Zinfandel Embankment 2021 fra Goldschmidt, Sonoma - Californien
From the rise of the Embankment you get to see vineyards with a distinct balance of aspect, sunlight, water and micro-climate. With the gentle flowing river, east-facing slope and glacial soil once again we have a vineyard perfect for making great wines.
This final result was that yields were on the lighter side due to smaller clusters and berries. The advantage is that small berries mean intense wines!
The color is a vibrant purple with nuances of ripe cranberry and Asian spice on the nose. It carries the zinfandel character of loads of lovely fresh fruit making this a straight forward and classic varietal. The mouth has flavors of dark bramble fruit with layers of fresh cocoa and vanilla. The vibrant acidity balances beautifully with the opulent fruit and it carries through to a long and elegant finish
