2019 “Estate Ranch” Zinfandel
Not black, but a saturated purple color with a red rim. On the nose, fresh wild huckleberry, blackberry, and sweet plum aromas dominate. Subtle hints of cherry pie, sweet herbs and vanilla bean play in the background as well.
The aromas are echoed in the flavors and the palatehas soft, rounded edges, and a medium-full density. The finish is long, flowing, and generous with mulberries, blueberries, cocoa powder, and vanilla.” 99% Zinfandel, 1% Petite Sirah – all from one vineyard, the Renwood Ranch, on Bell Road, in Plymouth, Amador County, California.
