Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 - The Verge fra Goldschmidt Vineyards, Sonoma

The Verge Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 fra Goldschmidt, Sonoma - Californien

The VERGE comes from a 7 acre parcel just east of Geyserville. The vines are set in a stony volcanic slope bringing classic Cabernet flavors. However the winemaking is firmly set in the present providing a modern thinking to an ancient art. This gentle east face slope and morning sun exposure vineyard, avoids the hot afternoon temperatures. Eastfacing slopes are a relatively rare occurrence in the Alexander Valley, as most are too steep to plant.

The VERGE is cane-pruned, which technique produces smaller berries, less dense clusters, and a more open canopy. The benefit is more even ripening. Black fruit, depth, and more power is the signature of these much sought after east-facing sites.

Light yields with small berries and small clusters led to great concentration.

This wine is deep purple with a pleasing red middle with aromas of dark cherry and blueberry. Concentrated blackberry, chocolate and maple on the palate.

Alc. 14.5%, Lagring: 15 months in French oak barriques

Drue:  100% Cabernet Sauvignon fra Alexander Valley.
